Post-charge Diversion and Deferred Prosecution Program

Description: 
The Diversion Supervision Agreement Program is a joint venture between the Sauk County District Attorney's Office and Division of Justice, Diversion and Support to decrease the number of individuals convicted of criminal offenses and overall recidivism by increasing the efficacy of deferred prosecution agreements via evidence-based, risk-needs-assessed case management and supervision.

Pre-arrest Diversion Program (Proxy)

Start Date:

Description: 
Law enforcement utilizes the Proxy in the field with all offenses that can be determined as criminal. Law enforcement is able to divert individuals based on their discretion and eligible offense. The case manager will contact the individual within 72 hours of receiving referral. This is a 6 month program and, if successfully completed, charges will be diverted and no charges will be filed. If a person is unsuccessfully discharged, the officer will be notified and may pursue filing charges.
