As required under federal statute, the State of Wisconsin's FY24 Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) application has been posted for public comment.
Per Executive Order #41, the State Criminal Justice Coordinating Council acts as the planning body for the State of Wisconsin's state JAG formula funds.

CJCC Petition Support Letter
The CJCC has submitted a letter to the Supreme Court to support the State Bar’s petition regarding cultural competency and reduction of bias training for continuing legal education. The letter is also posted on the Supreme Court's pending petitions webpage in the “Response to petitions” section.

Wisconsin Diversion Standards Now Available
In Wisconsin, there has been increased interest regarding alternatives to incarceration and diversion of individuals from the criminal justice system into treatment and other appropriate services to meet their assessed needs. Much of this momentum has been focused on problem-solving (or treatment) courts, which have an established model and have increased rapidly in Wisconsin in recent years. However, there has also been an increased interest in and expansion of other types of diversion programs.
Treatment Alternatives and Diversion Program Annual Report Now Available
Wisconsin treatment courts and diversion programs that receive Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) funding are statutorily required, under Wis. Stat. §165.95, to submit participant data to the Wisconsin Department of Justice. The purpose of this report is to provide an overview of TAD-funded participants who were admitted to treatment courts and diversion programs in 2019 and entered into the Comprehensive Outcome, Research, and Evaluation (CORE) Reporting System.

TAD Participant Outcome Summary and Cost-Benefit Report Now Available
Between 2014 and 2018, TAD program admissions grew 150%, coinciding with over $5 million in additional funding awarded. During these five years, 6,125 admissions were reported across approximately 83 Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) funded treatment courts or diversion programs in 52 counties and three tribes across Wisconsin.
