The mission of the Walworth County OWI Court is to enhance public safety and to reduce the number of alcohol/drug related traffic deaths and injuries by effectively partnering with government agencies and community resources focusing on the problem of repeat OWI offenders. Comprehensive cognitive-behavioral therapy programming and monitoring framework of the OWI Court provide the tools necessary to meet the inclusive needs of the participants. In turn, the Walworth County OWI Court will divert offenders from jail and effectively reduce recidivism, keeping the residents of Walworth County safe on the roadways.

Adult Drug Court

Description: 
The mission of the Walworth County Drug Court is to enhance public safety, to reduce prison and jail populations, and to reduce recidivism by effectively partnering with government agencies and community resources to focus on non-violent, drug offender rehabilitation. Intensive cognitive-behavioral therapy programming and the supervision structure of the Drug Court provide the tools necessary to meet the comprehensive needs of participants. Walworth County is committed to cultivating an evidenced-based drug court, which have been empirically shown to reduce recidivism, in an effort successfully rehabilitate substance dependent offenders and to intervene in a continuous cycle of crime perpetuated by drugs in the criminal justice system thus aiding in taxpayer cost savings, greater criminal justice efficiency, decreased criminal activity, and improved quality of life.

Veterans Treatment Court

Description: 
The mission of the Veterans Treatment Court of the Second Judicial District of Wisconsin is to honor veterans by restoring them to a productive life by providing judicial support, treatment and supervision thereby enhancing public safety. The program diverts eligible veteran-defendants with substance dependency and/or mental illness charged with non-violent felony or misdemeanor criminal offenses to a specialized criminal court docket.
