The mission of the Washburn County Drug and Alcohol Court is to reduce substance abuse and criminal behavior in order to improve the lives of offenders, families, and the community by providing intensive court supervision and drug treatment while holding offenders accountable for criminal behavior. The approach is teamwork oriented and provides court supervision and drug treatment while holding offenders accountable for criminal behavior. The team consists of the Circuit Court Judge, District Attorney, Defense Attorney, AODA and Mental Health Coordinator, Case Manager, AODA Treatment Providers, Community Corrections Agent, and Justice Programs Coordinator.

Description:
Washburn County offers diversion programming for low risk/low need individuals to keep them out of he criminal justice system. We offer a marijuana awareness program, disorderly conduct diversion program, defensive driving diversion program, intoxicated driver intervention program, underage drinking program, and driver's license reinstatement diversion program. These programs can also be offered as a post-charge/deferred prosecution program.
